Short description of the organization/department/research team:The Sochi State University for Tourism and Recreation (SUTR) was created in 1989 with the main purpose of an education and professional training in the specific South region of Russia. Today SUTR is one of leading high schools in Russia in the field of tourism, recreation, and environmental management of the natural resources. SUTR as pilot high school took part in program TACIS EDRUS 9510 (Education development in the recreation field), and also is a member of BSEC. Education in SUTR covers a wide range of disciplines including environmental sciences and engineering, coastal zone engineering and environment, integrated coastal zone management, modeling of the environmental systems. SUTR team is formed by mathematicians, economists, social scientists, environmental scientists, engineers, experts in information technologies and experts in climate change. The University researchers have a long-standing experience in the coordination and participation in European funded projects and projects, funded by the Russian Foundation of Basic Research (RFBR).

Short description of the organization/department/research team:P.P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology RAS is the oldest and the largest Russian research center in the field of oceanology. The main objectives of the Institute lie in a complex study of the World Ocean and the Russian seas based on the idea of entirety of physical, chemical, biological and geological processes observed in them, developing scientific foundations for forecasting the Earth’s climate variability, rational use of marine resources and safeguarding of ecological security in the interests of sustainable development of mankind.

Short description of the organization/department/research team:Institute for monitoring of climatic and ecological systems of Siberian branch of Russian Academy of Science (IMCES), Laboratory of monitoring of forest ecosystems (IMCES SB RAS). Laboratory belongs to ecological division of IMCAS SO RAN. The laboratory is working in priority direction or investigation of institute VII.63.1.4. under the title “Ecosystem change on landscape and climatic boundaries in conditions of global warming (scientific leader of direction is doctor of geographical sciences Dyukarev A.G. and doctor of biological sciences Timoshok E.E. Research are performing in forest zone of Western Siberia and in Altai mountains. It includes complex soil-vegetation and paleoecologocal (pollen and macrofossil analyses) investigations in ecotones of forest zone and altitudinal zones of mountains. Another priority project is VII.63.3. “Climatic change in Arkctic and Siberia under influence of volcanic activity”. Scientific leader is prof. Zuev V.V.
