International Conference on Carbon Reduction Technologies, 19-22 September, Hucisko — Poland

Time: 19 - 22 September, 2011

Venue: Polish Jurassic Highland (Jura Region or Jura Krakowsko-Czestochowska), Poland

The conference aims to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of current research activities in the field of low carbon dioxide emission technologies in energy sector.

In recent years, a great deal of research has been carried out in the field of low carbon energy generation in order to prepare and select appropriate CCS technologies, to study process operating conditions and performance as well as process integration or renewable energy sources utilization. This international conference is designed to be a scientific and technical event, gathering together players from the worlds of academic research, applied research and industry to discuss research advances, potential applications and R&D needs and challenges. The technical program will consist of invited lectures by specialists from all over the world, oral presentation of the contributed papers and posters of the work-in-progress.

Conference topics:

  • Pre-combustion capture (gasification, IGCC, etc.)
  • Post-combustion capture
  • Oxy-combustion capture
  • Biomass combustion and co-combustion
  • Sorbents, solvents and membranes
  • Other/novel technologies (looping processes, mineralisation, CO2 capture from air, energy efficiency)
  • Modeling of CCS processes
  • Renewable energy (wind, solar, geothermal & water)
  • Transport & storage - capacities, environmental risk, monitoring, etc.
  • System analysis & techno economic assessment (integrated systems, retrofit/repowering, plant flexibility, utilization of CO2, Life Cycle Analysis, etc.)
  • Policy issues & legal aspects - international agreements, systems for CO2 trading
  • International R&D projects, pilot-scale activities, lessons learned

Abstract submission: 31 May 2011
